Nothing ever stays the same or does it?
As the property market gets back to some form of equilibrium, new ways of selling a property or moving home seem to pop up at every corner.
However everything that glitters is not “Sold”. Traditional values and old fashioned professionalism will always be very important to a seller and buyer as long as it is allied to the benefits of modern technology.
Faceless internet based estate agents are all well and good until problems arise, that is when experience and a hands on approach are very important. More and more we hear from clients about how they like to interact with someone who takes personal responsibility and has a knowledge of the individual issues at hand.
Fixed fees seem to be the flavour of the month but remember two things. Firstly, something that appears too good to be true - normally is exactly that. Cut price fees can culminate in a reduced service to clients and corners have to be cut, not a good idea with such a valuable asset. Secondly, a pre-ordained or set fee means the agent has no incentive to get you the best price and can be tempted to recommend the first offer they receive on the sellers behalf and move on to the next sale.
There are many pitfalls when selling a property but they can be overcome and need not be a trap for the unsuspecting. Call in and speak to your local estate agent, you will be amazed at the many and varied functions they perform to ensure your sale is a success.
