Templeton Robinson’s Lisburn office Director, Jonathan Steen, recently welcomed Daniel Lawton, the US Consul General in NI to Lisburn for a Chamber of Commerce event.
Jonathan, who is President of the organisation, hosted the occasion alongside vice-president Evan Morton. The event was initiated to discuss a range of business matters within the local community. Both Jonathan and Evan welcomed Mr Lawton to the city by visiting local retailer Smyth Patterson and Alfredo’s reviewing future investments.
The US Consulate in Belfast was established in 1796 and was the primary export for linen to the USA from Lisburn. Today, the US Consul aids two-way trade between Northern Ireland and the USA.
Commenting on Mr Lawton’s visit, Jonathan said:
“Many local businesses are already doing business in the USA and many would like to explore opportunities. It was a pleasure to host the US Consul and to give him an insight into many successful businesses located in Lisburn.”
As an active member of the local community and long-time ambassador for the city, Jonathan was appointed the President of the Lisburn Chamber last year.
